Notice Regarding Eligibility for Paid Family Leave (PFL) Benefits Pending Board Appeal

The Employment Development Department (EDD) has appealed the Administrative Law Judge’s decision that you are eligible for Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits. If you are otherwise eligible and you complete and send in the Continued Claim Certification for Paid Family Leave (PFL) Benefits covering each week that you continue to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child, EDD may pay you benefits until the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB) reaches a decision. If the CUIAB decides that you are not eligible for benefits, you may have to repay EDD.
